GM Data Center

Job scope included clearing and grubbing, topsoil stripping and earthwork balancing. This site contract included of all trenching for site and building electrical, mechanical subcontractors, as well as all footing and foundation excavation and backfill.

A unique challenge to the job was the fact that the site was on a slope which was easily eroded during rain storms, causing earthwork and foundations to be installed in smaller segments, not leaving areas open.

All pavement removals were taken to recycling facilities. Removed trees were shredded and re-used on site for mulch. The main site electrical feed required trenching 5,420 lft of 12 ft wide and 6 to 10 ft deep conduit duct banks, backfill with concrete, cutting through a high density building area of the campus.

Storm water system, sanitary system, the domestic water supply and trenching for the fire line water system, and data duct banks were also included.

Aggregate base for both the concrete and asphalt paving, concrete curb and gutter, concrete pavement and general seed and mulch of the area finished the scope. All excess soils generated were stored on the campus site.
