Iafrate Construction is looking for Project Engineers with a background in heavy civil, road and site work construction. Our Project Engineers work closely with our estimating and project management teams in both the field and office to develop, plan, and execute our construction projects.

PROJECT ENGINEER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate and proactively assist Project Managers to ensure projects stay within budget, on schedule, and within scope of work
• Provide project expertise and assistance to field personnel and operations
• Understand productivity, costs, quality control, document management and processing of applications for payment
• Manage document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims)
• Procure construction materials and coordinate subcontractors and vendor
• Conduct construction audits (quality, safety, cost)

PROJECT ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or similar
• Working knowledge of engineering practices
• Previous experience in the civil construction industry preferred
• Ability to read engineering drawings and documents
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary technical teams on complex projects
• A strong focus on workplace safety and demonstrated safety leadership
• Proficient in the use of computer and Microsoft office
• Proficiency in word processing, analytical spreadsheet preparation, and ability to learn a variety of engineering software
• Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work with minimal direct oversight
